Throwing a Great Pool Party

Black Wild Orchid

Summer is a few months away – are you planning on throwing a pool party? Well, then, this blog will definitely be helpful to you. Here are some things you need to keep in mind so you can pull off that memorable pool party:
Plan Ahead
This is very important when hosting any kind of event, really. You want to ensure that you have everything you need for a smooth event. You also want to make sure that the temperature on your chosen day will be perfect for swimming. Remember that the safe range for a pool is 84-88 F. Some kids are not comfortable swimming in colder temperatures – you don’t want to spoil the party for them just because of this problem.
Prepare Necessities
As a host, you should have sufficient supplies of towels, soaps, shampoos, and sunscreens for your guests. It’s not uncommon for some guests to arrive to your party unprepared, but if you’re ready, that won’t be a problem. You want your guests to have a good time until the end – feeling nice, dry and sunburn-free!
Think Safety
Make sure that you are one of your guests know how to perform proper CPR and First Aid. If there are lots of adults around, just make sure there would be one or two adults at the poolside at all times – this can be done by taking turns so everyone gets to have fun. Safety is always a priority.
Provide Water Toys
Kids absolutely love toys, but they are not particularly generous especially when they are having fun. A good host knows better than to have children fighting over one toy. Always have a variety of toys and some extras available. You can also provide inflatable balls and air mattresses that the adults can use when the kids are done swimming.
Host Fun Games
Don’t let your guests get bored – have them participate in fun games! There are many pool games that can be played by both kids and adults (Marco Polo, pool noodle races, etc.). To make things more interesting, you can also provide prizes – small trinkets will do.
Provide Snacks
Any swimming event is sure to make anyone hungry. Prepare good party foods like cookies, chips, granola bars, and veggies and dips. If you are going to have men who can help in barbecuing, this is also a good idea. Just make sure to provide options for guests who might be vegetarians. Don’t forget to provide enough cold water, juices or sodas to keep your guests hydrated!
Provide Comfortable Seating Options
A good party would not be complete without comfy seating options. Make sure that you are equipped with the right chairs, lounges, or even outdoor tables. For great outdoor furniture options, check out our collections today! Here at Palm Casual, we only want to give the best to our clients.
